b series swaps are pointless IMO unless you are planning to boost the hell out of it at some point. I plan on a turbo D for my next project, I'm looking for a nice daily driver with torque!... but we'll see how the cards fall.

Let me get this straight. If I took my engine (b16a2), lowered the compression to that of a d series engine, and took off the VTEC, it would pretty much be a zc engine with a rev limit to 8000?

what? all I was saying is that i've owned b16 cars, and for the money, I personally don't think it's worth it(especially the b16) unless you plan on boosting it. That is just my opinion on the matter.

i cant wait til my car starts, you can see why a b16 is a good choice, in MY opinion

I drive one every day... whats your point? I wouldn't have put the motor in if I didn't have it in my garage though. I think people that spend like $5000 to drop them in their cars, just to leave the motor stock and n/a, are stupid. again, just my opinion, and if your car starts again it won't change my mind.

But your motor is built and on the bottle iirc, so thats an example of switching platforms and building on top of it... which, I have said, is the exception to my thinking that the swap is pointless.

Here is my take on B motors:
I love em, so much that i planned on swapping a B16 in my CRX about a year and a half ago. I went out and bought a fresh import with aout 35K mi on it, then left it in my shed. Shortly after buying it I realised I could not get the performance I wanted out of it with the money I had. The swap itself would cost more than what I bought the car for :(
So... I took my money and boosted the ZC. Now I have better performance and of course I spent less. I think I will go to a B motor once again, but not until I have shitloads of money to spend.

simply put- B motors are great, D motors are great. But... you will always be able to put more money into the D to make it faster for the simple reason that they are cheaper.

BTW: ZCs kick ass

On other forums I see people always saying that they are going to get a d series engine or one person tells another "d series ftw" when a motor gets blown. They always talk about boosting the d series. Honestly, IMO, boosting a d series is pretty much equivalent to a stock b series, well, one with VTEC. Is there something I'm missing?
so my 403whp 310 ft lb. d-series is pretty much like a stock b16 or b18?

b-series FTL!
