i have a 97 civic ex d16y8. i'm gonna b putting a header on it shortly. i'm wondering if at some point i want to switch it from sohc to dohc if i'll need to use a different header or if it will work with both. as you can probably tell i'm just starting out and dont know much about it yet.

+1 what massacre said. I don't think you'll really be able to use anything from the sohc when you switch over to dohc "motor/ecu wise"

find somebody parting with a 99-00 y8 "exhaust manifold" it's a factory tubular style header and is a nice improvement over the stock 96-98 cast manifold.

That way your not spending a bunch of money on a good header or buying a cheap ebay one just to get by.
