LS1s blow. Can't even take them out to anything bigger than a 396 without a re-sleeve, and for that price you can step up to any other LSx (except LS6) to make big cubes. I've heard a lot of builders don't like a 396ci because of the geometry near and at TDC. I believe the bgigest to date was a 502ci LSX tall deck.
