piston help
ok so im building a b18b1 that will be turbo'd. i found some JE 81mm pistons for sale with 500 miles on them and i wanted to know if those are the right size i need for my motor? will there be an issue with piston to valve clearance? also are they too high of a compression ratio for running a boosted motor? they are 11.5:1 compression. plz help, thanks

Yes, that motor has a 81mm bore. As for the compression, the info for the pistons should say. Also, pistons arent the only thing that changes compression.

would you suggest 11.5:1 is kinda high for me to work with? im going to stick with my stock crank. but im going to do eagle rods, arp rod bolts/head studs. im not too sure about what my plans are with the head yet.

11.5 isnt low compression. Its the stock compression of like a k20a. You could use them if you want, its just easier to tune on lower compression.

yeah thats what i was thinkin. i dont have any prior tuning experience so i prolly should go with a lower compression route.Phate;246823 wrote:11.5 isnt low compression. Its the stock compression of like a k20a. You could use them if you want, its just easier to tune on lower compression.
