I have a 'new to me' black Civic SI, and while I love it stock I have a 'bad' habit of making changes to cars.
First three things I was thinking of doing:
1. Cold air intake: What is the best option out there? AEM?
2. Smoke the tail lights. For some reason I like this look on a black car. Should I go with a sticker type cover? Do they even make snap ons anymore? Site suggestions? Or who out there just HATES this idea?
3. Black rims. I was thinking black spokes w/ chrome outer parts, or should I go all black. Is tirerack.com the best place to grab something like this? Again, hate it, love it?
Thanks!

I like to start in the tint/suspension/intake area, along with HIDs and LEDs.
I would try film on the tails, if it looks bad you can peel it off.
I think all black, or black with a colored lip/pinstripe looks best if you want black wheels.
Welcome!

Great question! haha... I am not too much on exterior mods past what I listed above. Not sure on an end goal as of yet. I think I need to spend a bit more time with the car before I decide on much more.Waffles;239573 wrote:What is your end goal with the car?

When you say intake area, what kind of changes would you suggest? Starting w/ cold air like I said?02Type-S;239574 wrote:I like to start in the tint/suspension/intake area, along with HIDs and LEDs.

Also, I am big on headlights and I would like some HIDs. I just put some PIAAs in there for now, but I want to put some real HIDs in there. How does a plug n play kit look in our OEM housing? I have read that a projection kit looks better as you can aim the beam, but a lot of projection headlight kits aren't made for the HID bulb kits. So I am in a world of confusion there. :dunno:
I have not heard much about this. I'll have to do some research. What benefits does this provide? Faster shifts?06sik20z3;239580 wrote:very first mod to do is a weighted shift knob i am not joking

Yes, like a cold air. You will be fine with the HIDs and factory housings. go to www.ddmtuning.com for the kits, cheap and awesome!Pfister07;239581 wrote:When you say intake area, what kind of changes would you suggest? Starting w/ cold air like I said?

Thats exactly what I was afraid of and don't want to spend much money on a HID kit if it doesn't have a lot of use other than blinding people.06sik20z3;239583 wrote:i have a pnp hid kit in my stock housing and i hate it because the light just disperses no real depth i also put some ebay fog lights in doesnt look to bad
Thanks for the link and suggestion. Does your HID actually provide better light than the usual bulbs, or does it just look cool? What temperature do you have? I want to still see the focus lines with these bulbs and not sure if that is the case.02Type-S;239584 wrote:Yes, like a cold air. A lot of ppl on here run the DDM kits, they have 35 watt and 55 watt, just depends how much light you want. When I do installs, its usually 6000k 35 watt. The ppl I do them for love them.Pfister07;239586 wrote:Thanks for the link and suggestion. Does your HID actually provide better light than the usual bulbs, or does it just look cool? The HIDs in my TL-S came standard, I dont have a kit in the Integra yet, needs a clutch first haha
