Anyway, down to business... I had a high pitched noise that almost sounded like a mosquito in my ear every time I hit the accelerator. The dealer said, they all make that sound and nothing is wrong. I thought that was odd, but I started reading forums and found that many many people have had this same issue so I started to believe him. Well, 2 months later and I thought I was going to go crazy. I wanted to hear my engine and exhaust dammit! Not this screetch.
I found posts about people who have had their differential fixed, changed out, etc and that seemed to fix the issue. Others didn't have such luck and many were told what I was told, "That it was common among SI's and not an issue". I realized that my sound wasn't only made when the car was in gear. It did it in neutral as well so that made me think that it couldn't be the differential and perhaps a belt or pulley.
I decided I might as well try and milk my warranty while I still had it so I took him in. After about 20 mins, they came back and said it was the Tensioner Pulley. They got the part in and the next day had it swapped out. IT's A MIRACLE! No more crappy sound and all I hear is my engine and exhaust purring away.
GREAT NEWS! Hopefully this helps someone. I am sure there are many things that would cause this issue but hopefully this will help someone out in their deduction process.
