if you say so....JDM EM1;220105 wrote:HAHA are you an idiot? No it won't I promise! The turbo yes will still spool and make noise, but WILL NOT BUILD BOOST!
Im pretty sure I went around for 2 months before I could get a tune and had my BOV off and I could rap it out to 8,200rpm's and it wouldn't build any boost what so ever! but sure the turbo spool was there, but no wastegate opening up or bov sounds, obviously b/c i didn't have my BOV on.

There is such thing as overspinning a turbo, which can be a problem. The turbo can spin to the moon if there isn't anything to regulate how much it spins (which could destroy the turbo). And since most are pressure regulated through positive pressure (which you now are not building), the turbo will spin as fast as your exhaust can push it....which it probably wasn't designed for.JDM EM1;220105 wrote:HAHA are you an idiot? The best way to "bypass" an installed turbo is to create an exhaust leak before the turbo, i.e. open wastegate.

True, but I never had a problem with mine building boost or anything, also I do have open wastegate, but yeah i'd rather run this way anyday before I go running around building up boost on any rpm and sacrificing my motor on an untune motor..
