best power conversion?

i drive a 91 civic with the d15b
i was trying to find out what would be the best thing to do to my car for the best price.
i thought about doing a b18 swap but its quite a bit of money. opinons?

you can put a b-series into a 91 civic for less than $1000. a vtec motor would be a little more, but still, thats cheap.
Or for the same price, you can turbo your motor or probably put in a d16z6 and turbo that.

but.....best bang for the buck, I would suggest just doing a d16z6 swap

The turbo D has been a popular build for a while now. A few people here have some decent builds

personally id swap but if youre looking for power for a reasonable price build the d and boost it.

ninja edit: spork makes a good point with the z6 swap idea

just turbo your current engine. stock d's can handle 200whp on a good tune.

I agree w/swapping a Z6. Or, what about the other option? If you wanna spend the time looking, get an older d16 and put a z6 or Y8 head on it and do a mini-me. Probly not much cheaper and lots more work but, I'm just putting another option out there. And I can tell you from experience, vtec b series is way more than an ls b. Just sayin.

turbo the d15, i had a d15b7 that made 189 whp and 176 torque, plenty enough to get you into trouble and if you blow it up you wont be as upset...
