I'm pretty sure its built for AutoX, not for the street. IIRC, any kind of swap/poweradder would put the car in a more difficult class for SCCA.99BlackHatch;72792 wrote:The Ep3 looks nice, but does he know it is slow!?
But I sit here and talk shit and my car isn't currently running. lol

I understand that, and on an Auto-X course with my car and IT'S current setup, it would fail... but my setup, which will be up and running soon, tell him to meet me at the drag strip and see what happens.bildo16;72813 wrote:race him around an autox course and see who wins:drive:
2 different cars, and 2 different setups. The point was more towards that K series motor is weak compared to B16's. I've had no troubles beating them fully modded, with my B16A and that was with intake and exhaust.

Why do you have to pick on stock EP3's? Is your car that slow? Good luck at the track, I doubt with your new setup that you'll even pass tech. I'm not really trying to start shit with you since your a good friend of mine, but you have lots of other stuff to worry about before even thinking of taking your car to the track. The last time I saw it it looked like a death trap.99BlackHatch;72886 wrote:I understand that, and on an Auto-X course with my car and IT'S current setup, it would fail... but my setup, which will be up and running soon, tell him to meet me at the drag strip and see what happens.

thats a pretty bold statement from someone who cant seem to keep his b16 running. and which fully modded k-series have you beat? ask alex what happened when he raced an ep3 with i/h/e.99BlackHatch;72886 wrote:I understand that, and on an Auto-X course with my car and IT'S current setup, it would fail... but my setup, which will be up and running soon, tell him to meet me at the drag strip and see what happens.

come on, everyone knows the EP3's K20a3 blows dick. but its still good for mid range TQ which he can utilize on the AutoX course. im sure your b16a against a K20a R motor wouldn't have the same result.

Thats a good point but not a good comparison. Allex's car is heavier, has longer gears, lower comp. pistons, and has no muffler.bildo16;72915 wrote:and which fully modded k-series have you beat? ask alex what happened when he raced an ep3 with i/h/e.

Incorrect. I have beaten EP3's with a decent amount of bolt ons, "fully modded" was a bad use of words...but as for EP3's, I've done it once, I've done it twice, and I'm sure many on here can agree with me, that the EP3 motor... like stated above, "blows dick"bildo16;72915 wrote:thats a pretty bold statement from someone who cant seem to keep his b16 running. and which fully modded k-series have you beat?
Also incorrect about my motor. I'll admit, I blew up the B16A. It ran it's ass off and after boost, well things gradually went down hill and things got messy.
The reason the car is currently down is because the motor smokes. Pure and simple. I bought a block that I was told had gotten 2 leak down test from Acura and a compression test, which Acura said the motor passed with flying colors. I bought this motor from a reputable seller that many people know and have done business with as well.
I took the car to a friend, he doesn't want to have his name disclosed currently, but he took the head off and looked at the motor for me. Cylinder 3 was wet with oil. There is / was some sort of defect with the ring or a defect in the cylinder wall.
I've contacted the person who sold me the block, and he said he would be willing to make it up to me. Thank God, all I need are OEM GSR piston rings to get the car back on the road. But seeing as how the motor is apart, I will also be upgrading the bearings and such.
So that is the story. The car will be back up and running with in 2 weeks I believe. I'll be running 14 psi. The motor will have all bolts in it again, all wiring issues resolved, and then back for the finishing touches of tuning.
Also. Find me an EP3 in St. Louis / St. Charles with intake, header, and exhaust that will run 14.8 @ 93mph or better. This also means no chipped ECU, no Vtec controller or a VAFC, and on street tires. I don't believe that Allex is running in the 14's yet N/A. No offense to Allex, I mean that in the nicest way.bildo16;72915 wrote:ask alex what happened when he raced an ep3 with i/h/e.

I doubt Hiroshi will ever do that...he's got a crotchrocket that more than makes up for this EP3.99BlackHatch;72886 wrote:I understand that, and on an Auto-X course with my car and IT'S current setup, it would fail... but my setup, which will be up and running soon, tell him to meet me at the drag strip and see what happens.
