What color wheels for a red ef?

I actually totally disagree. (a few of us have had MANY conversations about this in the past)
In my opinion, black looks like shit. There is almost no color combination for a wheel that I can think of that is as played out as Black with a polished lip.
Red does a much better job of tying the car together. With as much glass as EF hatches have, when you have tinted windows and black bumpers/trim, the car is dangerously close to being two-tone in appearance. Black wheels push it over the edge and make it look very bland. Red offers a nice 'pop' and helps the car keep an overall theme of Red with ACCENT colors... not Red and Black with miscellaneous other colors like chrome/clear, amber, stocklugnutswhichshouldnevereverbeusedwithaftermarketwheels, and -more often than not- rust.

With painted bumpers, its the opposite (this applies for color matching with nearly every other honda out there since they all have painted bumpers). Red wheels make too much red and you need a different colored wheel to balance the look.

and that lip isn't made anymore, and was heavily modified to fit his 88-89 bumper.

Password JDM cf lip aka j's racing replica, they stopped making that lip last year or so i had it for 3 years on two different cars. It was originally designed for a crx with the 90-91 front bumper and to fit my 89 ef bumper i just modified it just a little and it fit perfect.

jdmshit.com sells a version of it now but only in Poly-urethane

I totally agree with Spork here. Chris' car was hot! And those black wheels do look like shit to me too.

I think you are taking it too personal... the pictures I have seen show that your car looks like it has a very clean body and you keep it well maintained... even if I don't particularly like black wheels w/ polished lips. I also don't like bronze wheels, and if someone says that that color looks 'great' on a car, I will disagree with them as well.

on topic: if you are looking for an 'off the shelf' wheel color, I think red and gold is a nice combo. otherwise I vote teal or green. Screw the 'christmas' thing, I had orange lug nuts on my black del sol... in autumn... and only 1 person made a Halloween comment.

This has always been one of my favorite ED/EF pictures:

Everyone has different opinions, take 'em and move on. I personally like your car a lot and I'm glad you picked black over red as your wheel color choice. No need for an "EF" that looks exactly the same running around. The old school black center caps help bring it together for me. Most people slap silver 'H' caps on GT3s and completely murder anything the car had going for it in the looks department.

My last off topic post in here, I swear. LOL
