my car started a real bad hesitation and then decided to sound like a subaru yesterday.
i was going around 50mph in 4th gear. then the car in front of me slowed down to make a left, so i slowed down and downshifted into 3rd. the guy turned and i started to accelerate from around maybe 25-30mph. then all of a sudden i get a real bad hesitation and the car lacks a lot of power all the while sounding like a subaru. i pulled off the road and waited till a buddy showed up with some tools so i could check my plugs. the #1 plug had a lot of ash deposits and light brown in color, while the other ones looked fine
i bought new plugs and it helped a lil bit. it was just enough to get my car home. so today i pulled my distributor cap off and it was definatly i need of replaceing. i put a new cap and rotor in and the drivability was smoother at first, but then i'm still getting misfires and hesitation under load. there never at the same rpm, speed, or throttle position.
im kind of thinking it could be the coil, but i dont want to just throw parts at it.
any help is appreciated.

I'd probably go with the coil

i would guess a faulty injector first , honda coils rarely go bad.
but start with pulling the plugs first and see if that gives you indication of what may be wrong and on which cylinder , then take that information and start at plug wires and a faulty injector.
my experience when a car sounds like that its injector issue but a plug wire is easier to diagnosis.
