Midwest Meet in STL

Date: August 7th
Time: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: Queeny Park @ Site C

Note: NOT limited to Accords or Hondas. All are welcome. I just ask that everyone is polite or at the very least mature at the meet.

This meet started on driveaccord, stretched it out to STL-IMPORTS, and now stretching it out to StlHondas. It started on driveaccord after a STL Accord "meet" of four cars. So far the interested list is growing, but would like to make this into something bigger.

This meet will pretty much be an "End of Summer" meet before school starts up for people. I also tossed in links for STL-IMPORTS and driveaccord for people to view in case an update happens in either before hitting here. So far the date has been more or less narrowed down. Just need to narrow down a venue that works out. If anyone has any suggestions within STL or can provide a venue, feel free to post or PM me.

Was putting off on making this thread for a bit after sending Ward a PM about a Midwest board since we're technically a region of our own in a sense, but no reply and with July around the corner, may as well get this started now than never.

Anyways...During/After the STL Meet on the 5th, there has been talks of ways to make a bigger meet since we only had four at our STL meet, and what better way than to have a regional meet?

Currently, from what was mentioned in the STL meet's gallery thread, people would like to aim for early or mid August for the meet. So far interests for a meet are in STL, Chicago, and KC. Since STL is a middle ground between all three cities, we can aim for STL as a starting point. Ideally, would like to have a Midwest meet once a year at least, and we can change venue each year.

So with that said...Would like to get more input on this along with a show of hands for people interested in the meet.

I might post this on stl-imports if people are interested in making this into more than an Accord meet or reach out to Accord owners there.

tl;dr summary:

Cool. Got you guys added to the list. Still open for suggestions on a venue, though time to raise the criteria of 10-20 at least from the looks of it.

I'm somewhat taking a look at a parking lot at Queeny Park so far.

Hm. I remember Forest Park being suggested before for a STL meet.

I'm probably gonna take a drive sometime and scout out the parks to see how they might fair. So far up to 12 interested. If anyone wants to tag along on the scouting run, let me know.

Added another to the list!

I took a drive to Stacy Park and...That is a pretty small park with a really nice and spacious parking lot. Would work if we get lucky and have a nice open segment of the lot with no other car interrupting the line. Might get lucky with Queeny since the multiple lots on the west side are pretty spacious and one's further back and out of the way. Still need to take a scouting trip to Creve Coeur Park and Forest Park to see how those would size up while still open for suggestions on other potential venues like a parking lot somewhere that won't get us in trouble with the fuzz for loitering or trespassing.

Gonna go and settle with Queeny Park as the venue.

Just need to figure out a time that works out for folks so chuck out some ideas for either the 7th or 8th okgo and whether early afternoon, late afternoon, or the evening.
