89 Civc w/ Power Steering

Post by LIKE2PLAY »

I have a 89 civic with power sterring. When on the highway it seems to be really touchee. Is this typicial of the power steering of honda's? Or could this be a buching problem. It drives straight as a arrow. Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Floating

Post by LIKE2PLAY »

It feels like the car is floating. Simular to having tall slicks. I have had power steering cars and they don't float around like this one. Any other thoughts?

Cheers!

i would also suspect worn suspension components, or a bad alignment excessive toe can make a car feel loose or twitchy.

Problems with the power steering itself? Getting high pressure at high speeds when you're not supposed to? :dunno:

Very little

The pressure is very little. Allot less than any other power steering i have driven. It is floatty and very touchy.
