Weekday SCCA Autox T&T/Low Key Events

Post by S2kNick »

Gateway has offered to rent the lot to the SCCA for some Thursday afternoon/evening events. The dates have not yet been set as we are trying to see how much interest there is in this type of event.

It will be a very low key/laid back atmosphere. No results will be tallied - just keep track of what pops up on the timing display. For those of us who are looking for more seat time - this will be a great opportunity to get a TON of runs in.

For those who may have a slight interest in autox but have not yet made it out to a Sunday event - this is also a great opportunity. Very low pressure atmosphere, easy work assignments, shorter courses that won't be very hard to navigate etc etc.

The plans are to run from 3 p.m. to dark and the entry fee would be $40 for SCCA members, entry cap of 40 entrants. Extra $15 for a temporary membership (that is pro-ratable to a full membership). If you can't be there at 3 - no problem. Get there when you can and we'll work you in - although the price will be the same for everyone - no matter when you arrive. If you can't get there till 6pm and wish to run the last hour or so - then your work assignment will more than likely be course teardown and packing up the trailer.

We need to know who is interested so that we can discuss dates with GIR - if only 5 people are going to show up - we probably won't do it. But if 20 people are willing to show up - then we will proceed.

Just to give you an idea of the possibilities - 20 entrants - 4+ hrs - there is no doubt in my mind that 20+ runs on the course is not out of the question.

Please reply here to let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Wish I had more free time for this. I had a great time at the school and the event the day after, but was not able to make it out on the 4th.
