Speedo stall....

Okay so at random times my cars speedometer will just stop and stay a like 17 mph, and then every now and then it will jump. So I turn the car off and it goes away for a while. Any ideas on why it would do this? Thanks!

okay so I did some research and it sounds like a curcitry problem. FACK ME!
