well i have been considering either a turbo or the jrsc setup....which one would you guys recommend? and on that synapse place on the price you have to realize they are putting in everything gettin me a brand new clutch...brand new computer...dual ball bearing turbo and all of that stuff it comes out to bout 5200 in parts alone...so 800 labor? and they are doing all the tuning and other good stuff like that....

or i could go and supercharge my car which is like 2200 for the basic kit which is 6 psi...but who knows how to install them and who knows how to tune them?

turbo will net better numbers for you, period. I know people who shelled out cash for JRSC set-ups with bigger pulleys, 'the works' and still ended up tearing it all out to go turbo. The 'bang for the buck' is just not there with the superchargers on our motors.
That said, I respect anyone who wants to go that route, but I would look more in the direction of a vortech system as opposed to the JRSC. Simply because of the heat soak issues. the manifold type blowers creat a ton of heat, and with the heat of the motor, they lose a lot by just 'blowing hot air' so-to-speak. you can buy 3rd party "intercooler" kits for the JRSC, but that is pretty costly (I priced out a full JRSC set-up for my car) and still dont necessarily solve your problems.
The centrifugal superchargers (like the vortechs) run air-liquid intercoolers between the unit and the intake manifold since the "supercharger"(basically a belt driven turbo) is mounted towards the front of the motor (near the dizzy iirc), so they can cool much more reliably than the roots/screw type blowers do. Sure, these cost more than the jrsc's do, and they are ultimately a better system IMHO, but they still don't give you the wide range of options that a turbo set-up will give you, and you will be paying as much or more for the supercharger in the long-run.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

consider a na build before you consider a supercharger on a vtec car, then what i was stating is thats EXPENSIVE for ONLY 300hp.

you can buy a treadstone kit or something similar with a non ball bearing turbo for ALOT cheaper pay lowes to install it and tune it (with chrome or hondata), have them put your clutch in and save yourself ALOT of money, or even cheaper have me and the guys do your clutch and then have lowes do the rest and saev even MORE money.

hey also rember that lowes is local and that other place is in new york. what happens when you have a problem plus how you getting the car there and back?
