umm you can run 10 psi on a STOCK b16 with proper tuning and you can also run over 400hp on a proper turbo setup with proper tuning.

but the build sounds fun and i look forward to seeing it completed

boost is effected by turbo size too... I dont know how the 16g compares, but i know plenty of b16's running 9+ psi on t3/t4 60trim turbos with stock motors... also, whats the point of lowering compression to run more psi? do you like spending more money to make the same numbers only with "more boost"?

vtec=high compression
boost=low compression
equal them out???
research into it and you will see what i am talking about every built honda motor gets lower compression pistons

turbo size does not matter. its the amount of cfms youre flowing. ive told people this over and over again, but no one listens. 10psi on a t4 is the same thing on the exact same motor/setup(chargepiping, throttle body, intake manifold, etc) as 10psi on a rhb5 as 10psi on a 16g. except on the bigger turbos, you will have more turbo lag and the person with the smaller turbo will get you off the line while youre building boost. so if you want to really get picky, you can be faster on a smaller turbo with the same amount of boost.

people lower compression to give more margin of error in their tuning. if you run high compression and do not have a good tune, its more likely to pop than if your running lower compression on the same amount of boost. of course you will be making lower horsepower on the lower compression engine though.

if you have a b16 i would say keep it stock, put a turbo kit on there and get used to the new power and while youre enjoying said new power, build a new engine for more hp/boost to go faster.
