Post by brittany »

My civic has a retarded window. It wont roll up all the way and it clicks when it gets a half inch away from being all the way up. Any suggestions?

I fixed this about a month ago, it was infact the Window Regulator. The teeth right where the motor hits it about an inch from the top of the window were worn down.

It costs $75 from the dealer who had it in stock or $45 from Autozone who had to order it.

It was a fairly simple operation but it does require two people to do it.

I did another one of these on a 98 civic 3 days later......sounds like a common civic problem

Ya, it only took like 45mins to do it, if that. Thats if you don't half to go back to Honda and exchange for another one like we had to.

True story. Always double check parts when you get them to make sure they are not broke.

I replied to this thread stating what the problem was, how to fix it and how much it costs, so others in the future with the same problem will know how to fix it.

Lets leave it at that and let this thread die down.
