differences in pedal assemblies

Post by rickles8099 »

is there a difference in pedal assemblies between the si, dx, or hf crx's? also, has anyone ever heard of a clutch being so stiff that it breaks the welds on the clutch pedal and after you reinforce it with other metal brackets and extra welds it bends the rod that the clutch pedal pivots on?

this is good to know, and definatly helps me make my decision on whether or not to buy a lighter duty clutch (than the one I was planning on swapping in) very easy to make.

but, which assembly is "the right one"? the Si assembly?

well... i have a dx crx and the clutch pedal has broken the welds twice before i beefed it up and now has bent the pivoting shaft. of course i have the stiffest pressure plate that i know of that one can buy for a civc/crx. so unless you really need all the clamping force either dont get a dx pedal assembly or go with the heaviest duty pressure plate you can find.

im not planning on throwing enough into the car to need a clutch/pressure plate that stiff. but i think ill look around and find something lighter than the one i have sitting in my room... i want soemthing nice for daily driving but still stiffer than stock.
