Post by noregrets »

Is Anyone Interested In Helping Me Fix My Car?? Ive Been Messing With It For Awhile Now And I Cant Figure It Out... It Cranks All Day Long But Wont Start.. Im Getting Power Tot He Distributor But Nothing Out Of The Distributor... I Went And Got A Junkyard Dist Thinking It Was It But It Didnt Work... Then I Got Another Dist From A Buddy Of Mine That Was Used... It Didnt Work Either... So Im Not Sure Wut To Do... If Anyone Is Interested In Coming Out To My Place We Can Work On It For Alittle Bit And Hopefully Fix It.. Then Later That Night I Plan On Throwin A Party... So Either Reply Here If Ur Interested Or Call Me At 636 578 3694... Or If U Have Just Any Ideas On Wut To Do Next Ur Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated..

Oh yeah,a battery can have enough power to crank and turn the lights and radioand all that on, but not to crank over. Take it up to Autozone and have them test it if you dont have a DVOM.

this is only rare occasions... hondas can usually start with barely enough to turn with... and considering the engine will crank all day without starting...

from what i gathered is that you checked spark by taking the plugs out and touching the threads to a ground while cranking... and you didnt get a spark... well, im guessing that its probably a coil issue... take a coil out of any distributor you or your buddies may have laying around and put it in and see if it starts...
I miss my honda ;(

I have seen this done on a lot of occasions, if you dont have enough power you dont have enough power, its as simple as that. So why not start at the simplest thing?

true, but brian's engine wouldnt even crank because his battery was so dead.... im going off the fact that this guy told us he could crank his car "all day long"... that tells me that his battery is fine...

btw, how did brian get his car started eventually?

If theres not enough amps to start the car then it wont start but it can crank.

Also maybe your starter is skippin teeth why dont you bench test the starter?

true bc maybe the battery is good but dead and has enough to crank but not start.
