help car wont start!

Post by boostedb16rex »

well i got my rewired si harness in along with my rywire subharness. Then i cranked on the motor and the timing belt snapped, replaced that now im back to where i started. Got the motor cranking again, got fuel pressure but a interrupted spark. The dizzy will only spark when the motor is first cranked then the ecu faults out. Im wondering if its the si harness i rewired or if its something that im over looking. Ive checked all my fuses, grounds and connections and everything seems to look good. The motor will try and start after the second or third attempt but wont turn over and fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so your sure you didnt bend any valves when the belt snapped? And the dizzy only sparks for a second then the ecu faults out? That doesnt make sense to me.. the dizzy should spark at all times while the cam is spinning it..try swapping out dizzys and ecus and start ruling things out.

i figured out the problem. The harness i was using was an si harness that i rewired and im getting spark to cylinders 1, 3 and fuel to 2, 4. Im picking up a hf harness and that should fix the problem. No i didnt bend any valves when the belt broke.
