CRX Won't start...HELP

Post by 90CivicEx »

So I drove it last night and parked it, got up this morning and nothing. Put the key in and I get dash lights and the beaping noise it usually does and it even has a horn but turn key and I hear like a draining style noise. I haven't really had time to mess with it and am gonna try to jump it tonight after my son leaves but in anycase if it is the starter or alt what car would I buy one for? Battery is easy to replace but those two items I don't know what to buy them from. I think it's just a drained battery cause my dome light somehow got turned on and I didn't know it, the car don't click to try and start either but like I said I was in a rush to get home to my son and haven't had time to mess with it.

OBD-0 B16a by the way.

i say charge the battery and then see if it still starts. if it doesnt, youll know the battery isnt the problem and you can move on to something else.

Dont replace that battery, go get it tested. Take it to autozone they will charge and test it. If it passes move on to the alt and the starter. For the B16 buy a 90 LS teg starter or alternator.

I've been having problems where I goto start it and it won't start until I sorta pull my foot back off the clutch a bit then put it back to the floor. My brother was talking about taking the safty switch out where it will start without hitting the clutch but I haven't a clue how to bypass it.

Find the clutch switch cut the wires and solder together.

I think I found it cause it's located above the clutch its like a button, well I can pull it out stand up and try to push the clutch but by the time I do the clutch hits it knocks it back and its stuck that way so maybe it thinks the clutch is still depressed when it isn't.

Like I said I get lights, stereo, heater, headlights blinkers everything and the beaping when the doors open. I don't think its the battery or alt. possibly the starter or this neutral safty switch.
