took valve cover off and put back on, now car wont start???
yea I took my valve cover off and then put it back on, so now the car wont start.. I replaced everything properly including the ground wires in the front. I went to start it up to see if anything was leaking and it wouldnt even turn over.. I noticed when I left the key forward in the start position that the battery light and the oil light were both on, I think thats normal but I just thought id add that.. anyone have any ideas? did I screw up a sensor or valve.. I am 95% sure everything is on right.. I also just drove it like 3 hours before I did this so its definetly something I did. the headlights work and I tried to unhook the battery and rehook it up and still nothing..

recheck all your grounds and battery connections, something is loose
does the starter start at all??? check the ground on the tranny side

it basically seems like I am trying to start it without pushing the clutch in.. I took it off b/c I have a brand new b18b valve cover I was going to put on, but didnt work right so I put everything back together the way it was. I am sure there are only two grounds which are the two in the front, and everything is tight. I also just checked all of the fuses which are fine..

well check your signal wire to your starter, pull it off and have someone try to start it and put a testlight on it or a multimeter see if your getting power

can you borrow it from autozone? should I try to run new ground wires? I honestly cant see it being anything else. thats literally the only thing I touched. the are pretty old, but I honestly dont see why it just wont start. its gotta be something stupid I am sure..

It seems like a bad ground wire. You may want to replace them bc taking them off may have messed them up if there so old.

umm dead battery? if the starter wont turn over i would say you have a dead battery.
Take a volmeter and measure the battery voltage on the car and see what it is or simply just jump start it and see if it starts
