i painted my interior black a while ago and didn't prep it as good as i should have. it's flaking off and looks like shit now, so im going to dye them. i'm just wondering if any one knows of maybe a paint stripper that won't mess up the interior plastic?

interior paint removal?
Aircraft Remover worked for me and it didn't mess up the plastic on my jeep (previous owner had rattle canned most of the plastic interior trim).
You can get it at auto parts stores, it does make a mess so I went to the DIY carwash to do mine. DO NOT spray it anywhere close to you're car though, it removes ALL paint

you can also use a green auto body scuff pad to help loosen the old stuff and scuff up the panels so the paint will stick to it.
i just did my whol interior on my civic and i scuffed all the panels first, then cleaned them with acetone and then used sem coat satin black to do my interior.

You need to remove all the old paint first with some plastic parts paint stripper, that works good. If you leave the old paint on it will keep peeling off like the stuff that already has.v-tecivic;42916 wrote:i painted my interior black a while ago and didn't prep it as good as i should have. it's flaking off and looks like shit now, so im going to dye them. i'm just wondering if any one knows of maybe a paint stripper that won't mess up the interior plastic?

To prep it:
Scuff any interior pieces with red scotch brite and use some type of anti-static plastic cleaner, followed by a single wet coat of adhesion promoter, you can use dupont plastic fix, then seal it and paint.
If you need some help just let me know!
