i have a 98 civic dx, i was using 205/45/17s the fronts had no problems rubbing at all. the rear tires would rub if i hit a bump or a dip or if i turned real hard. they are alot taller than the stock tires. my car is stock ride height. i think it was rubbing on the fender a little. if i put some weight in the trunk it would rub alot.
anyone using 215/40/17s with no rubbing issues? the 215's are alot closer to the stock tire height. does the 215 rub when turning?
also is there any cheap brake upgrades i could do? the wheels are alot heavier.
thanks

I had 215 40 17s on my car before and it was ok but it wasnt dropped that much. I would say go with 205 40 17 thats the right size for a civic I believe.

i say get a smaller wheel to avoid the rubbing.:thumbsup2:
and brake upgrades are not cheap unless your just talken some new rotors and pads. but i wouldn't even worry cause im sure those wheels are not whats making the difference.l try rear disc brakes! best upgrade a honda can get.
