Need help quick ! D16Y7 needs exhaust

Post by stltuner »

I,ve got a 98 Civic LX 4 door. On my way home last night I pretty much lost my cat. I dont want put stock back on. I was wondering if I could use a Hedmann Hedder. I have the gay ass D16Y7 with the dual cats. I want to delete the cat on the manifold. Can I delete that emissions friendly pig. Please help. I can't take my ghetto leaking exhaust much longer. also going to do a pacesetter catback and hi flow cat. It did well on my Accord.

oh man... i would highly recommend you stay away from pacesetter if you want your exhaust to:
1)not sound like shit
2)last more than a year

got 3 kids and the ball and chain. i'm not too loaded. i bought a cheapy header off ebay. hope it works. if not i'm back to here. emissions smissions. i'll get a po box or illinois plates. the environment can't be helped anyways. and even if i took all the emissions crap off it'll still be cleaner than a new ford. it's a honda. come on.

I figured out part of my dilemma. The cat is actually part of the exhaust manifold. That runs over $500 dollars for a new one. So I am going to convert to an EX style Exhaust. The cat will go after the Header and I'll just get an EX cat back system. I guess I'll be my own personal guinea pig. If it works and doesn't start tripping check engine lights I'll let everyone know. That way the next person who is actually crazy enough to want to mod a D7 will know what to do. Also maybe a cam will help things out. Shit I'm getting ahead of myself. So thanks to everyone for their help and advice.
