I have an 89 crx with a b18a and the inner CV boot has a cut in it and lube went everywhere. well I got the part today and was trying to take the main bolt off to get the hub off and couldnt get it to save my life.. there werent any pins or locks that I could see just a hole in the center of it and was bent in indentions on 3 sides. I know that doesnt make any sence but I have no idea how to explain it.. I bent 2 mini hydro jack bars tryin to loosen it and I didnt get anywhere.. If anyone knows what Im talking about and can give some advice please help, or if you know somewhere thats not going to rape me on the price to fix it that would be fine as well.. by the way it is on the driver's side front and for those who dont know what inner is like me until today, its the boot that is closest to the wheel bearing.
now for the suspension part. I am getting ready to order the tein basic coilovers for my 89 crx and was wondering if I needed a spring compressor still to put them on? I was wondering if there was anyone that can help me do that and a front camber kit (I will throw you some cash). I have a camber kit for a 94-01 integra but I am not sure if it will fit my CRX, but if not I am going to order the skunk 2 control arms..
thanks and if there is anyone willing to help me out with this stuff I will be more than happy to throw you some cash..

Camber kit won't fit, Your talking the 32mm nut at the end of the cv shaft that goes into the hub. Bend the indentions out and while the cars on the ground get a breaker bar and break it loose "Soak it in penitrating oil for a bit" once thats done break you lugs loose and jack it up and proceed. You shouldn't need a spring compressor to put the springs on they should just be how should I say snug. If you need help with the suspension PM me and you can bring it down to our garage and if needed I will break out the impact.zrs6v4;38067 wrote:I have an 89 crx with a b18a and the inner CV boot has a cut in it and lube went everywhere. well I got the part today and was trying to take the main bolt off to get the hub off and couldnt get it to save my life.. there werent any pins or locks that I could see just a hole in the center of it and was bent in indentions on 3 sides. yeah, put the wheel on, and put the car on the ground, then get a buddy to stand on the brake pedal while you hit it with a big ass breaker bar(get a giant piece of pipe to slide over the end of it and make it longer if you can). if that doesn't work, take it to Corey's (90CivicEX) or PM N2HIFI, he MIGHT be able to squeeze a small job like an axle replacement in at his house.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

Make sure the ends of the axle nut are bent out and not catching on the axle. Hit it with a 1/2 in. impact and call it a day.zrs6v4;38067 wrote:I have an 89 crx with a b18a and the inner CV boot has a cut in it and lube went everywhere. well I got the part today and was trying to take the main bolt off to get the hub off and couldnt get it to save my life.. there werent any pins or locks that I could see just a hole in the center of it and was bent in indentions on 3 sides. You shouldn't need a spring compressor. Like 90CivicEx said, they should come assembled, but not tightened down all the way. No, your camber kit will not work. Get rear LCA's and new bolts for them because you will most likely break the bolts off in the bushing. PM N2HIFI, he might have some time to do an axle and swap suspension.

If you notice there is a notch in the threads at the top, one of the indents should be pressed into it. Take a chizle to it and bend it out. Next you will need to hit it with an impact(i have never been able to get these with a breaker but I know people who have.) If it is really stuck and the WD is not working, try putting a torch to it.

I dont want to bother anyone, but I would really like to get this over with.. say I do end up getting the bolt loose, will I be able to get the axle out pretty easily or am I going to have to take the outer boot off and take other shit apart that I am not expecting.. I thought Id give it one last try today before i break down and pay someone.. thanks a bunch for all the help.. and Ill be back on a in a little bit after I give this one last try..

I must not have read into it cause I thought thats what you was wanting to do was an cv shaft replacement. Like I said I'm free saturday just hit me up we can try the impact and breaker bar, doing a cv replacement after getting that nut off takes maybe 20 minutes so its your call.
And the cv shaft should be only like $70 brand new with like a $30 core but you get the $30 back when you take back the old axle.
