Mini-swap in a D16 1.5L
I'm thinking I should just do a B18 swap, I have the money, and this mini-me swap doesn't seem like it would give me as much power as I would like. Nonetheless, isn't the compression ratio for the D16 really high? Why would people want to turbo this, I think I remember reading it was around 11, from my understandings the lower the compression the better the turbo gets used?

D16 compression ratios vary between like 9:1 to 9.6:1 compression, which is perfect for boost. Like all engines a turbocharged engine makes more power with higher compression, but due to laziness and lack of a decent fuel most people just lower the compression so they can up the boost. A stock D16's compression will be perfect for 93 octane @ about 10psi with a completely stock bottom end7illusion7;27364 wrote:I'm thinking I should just do a B18 swap, I have the money, and this mini-me swap doesn't seem like it would give me as much power as I would like. Hell, if you have the money to do a turbo B, then why are you asking us for help?7illusion7;27364 wrote:I'm thinking I should just do a B18 swap, I have the money, and this mini-me swap doesn't seem like it would give me as much power as I would like. What I was saying is if you have the money for a turbo B, why even consider the D series.7illusion7;27574 wrote:I'm not paying for someone to install my stuff, I still need help with whatever I choose... Just still undecided atm about what I should do with this vic.

Because changing the head is a lot easier than a full motor swap! I gota sit on this whole thing and decide what I really want to do. K20?
