its the ONLY way to get an accurate reading on AFR's... without one, you CANNOT accurately tune your car
I miss my honda ;(

wide band o2: four wire heated o2 sensor that reads afr in an output between 0 and 5 volts or lambda, 0 being lean 5 being rich.
target afr for n/a is around 13.5:1, boosted applications 12:1. the honda four wire heated o2 "wide band" only reads 0 to 3 volts there is a mod you can do to the ecu to make it read 0-5 volts to datalog an accurate lambda. you can also interface an lc-1 or any wideband o2 with an ecu to datalog and tune your car, although it is not necessary. lastly narrow band one wire o2 measures lambda from 0-1 volt and is useless in tuning, pretty much useless in general on a high performance application. i know, more than you asked, just thought i would cover everything may have missed and/or forgot some things...

except for you have your voltages backward and im pretty sure its more than a four wire sensor (i think my bosch has 5 or 6)... 0 is rich 5 is lean... thats why it isnt too big of a hassle if you dont do the ecu mod because you can read anything from about 17:1 afr to rich with the stock ecu (depending on the calibration of your w/b controller)...stolle;26671 wrote:wide band o2: four wire heated o2 sensor that reads afr in an output between 0 and 5 volts or lambda, 0 being lean 5 being rich.
oh and you cant just go out and buy a wideband sensor... a controller is also required to read the data from the sensor.
