In rattle can tradition, you need to do it in your driveway (or apartment complex parking lot while parked very close to other cars) while it's windy with some dirt and dust being blown around.

i rattle canned my hatch right b4 sundown in my driveway, it turned out rather well...but i would take it to a self carwash and do it in one of the bays honestly if you dont have any other space,

yea i did my olive green hatch (justrob and redlines old car) 4 years ago in my drive way and the paint still looks good to this day and i painted in in my driveway under a tree

I painted the hatch in the garage and again outside an old condo complex... not around any cars to clarify... you could tell. I didn't care though.

and Lol at the comment about going to a car wash... it's not exactly going to take you 10 minutes to paint the car. You'll be there a while.

im aware it takes a few hours, thats how long mine took...but its just less wind and not around other cars.

There are quite a few desolate car washes out there that could be used.
