There is only one way to get rust of your panels. That was is the cut out all the rust and the metal around it. Grind and sand it all down make sure there is not a spec of rust still on it then weld new metal in grind smooth out with your fav body filler primmer and paint

If you have to ask you should just take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Not being a dick but for certain things your better off without the headaches of doing it yourself. If its a beater and you wanna try to take on a job like that you should do ALOT of reading before you even touch the car.

Even then your first time doing anythings gonna look like a turd sandwich, but with practice you will learn first hand what not to do and what works. Body work is not easy or cheap. And even though it may look good with a buch of bondo slapped all over it sanded smooth; the rust WILL be back and it WILL be pissed.

You cant fix quarters with out a grinder,a welder,a patch panel (can be made or bought) and an experianced bodyman. You need new metal in there, then you need it smooved over, and painted. <in a nutshell. and each of those requires it own set of skills. And trust me those skills do not come easy to a begginer.

Do some research. The right people can do wonders with minimal material but that takes alot of patience and hard work.Your gonna fuck up alot and waste a lot of stuff just blindly running into body work. If your gonna do it i would pick up an old fender from a scrap pile at the junk yard and play with that.

I do I went to school for bodywork and have been doing it for 9 yrs. Everything he said is right u can't just take your qutr panels off the easyies way is what I said above there is no way around it and he was right sayin that if u don't have experience it can be a huge paint u can take it to people and they will do it pretty cheap like I charge about 100 to 200 per side when I do it for people. Its not something that someone can just pick up a tool and do it. As far as tools u can use any cutter of your choice air hammer, grinder, cutofff wheel, sawsall, air saw then u will have to custom make a new patch panel out of metal and weld that in. If u decited to start this think really carefully because once u cut it the price normally doubles for some one to do it
