Your not listening............Why would you want to work twice as much and spend extra money on hacking your car up. As compared to just controling your rust problem and saving your money to have it repaired properly. This is not an arguable subject because plain and simple fiberglass is not the way to repair rust EVER.

MIZ: I believe you can get rust mort at Ace hardware and any local Auto Paint supply store.

okay okay, ive had a few people say that i can fiberglass and it will be fine one being a friend who does body work, and a handfull say i should replace the quarter where its rusted. If i were to do that where would i find the replacement metal and how much would it cost. Then on top of that i dont have a welding machine, so i would need to find a place to get it welded and cut out.

Not to argue trock but I didnt mean it as a perm. thing. Fiberglass for me is being all done for by a local body shop that owes money so im letting my mom do it since I only need it to hold for a short time because Ill end up buying another lude eventually or a shell thats clean. If hes wanting it to last then yeah metal I planned on doing it later after I get money.

True out of choice id never do fiberglass over metal just to save money but its getting done as a gift and why not do it when im not keeping the car.Ill drive it for awhile then part all the parts I dont keep.

but like i am doing its just something to do to hold it up for a decent amount of time as mine is being professionally done by charlies autobody shop.

sorry if i was being a dick about it.just my o2

fiberglassing to repair rust!?!?!?! you guys make me laugh. cut it out and put metal back where metal belongs. if you cant afford it, dont do it. the fiberglass will crack before winter is over. i would even put money on it.
