Smoked/blacked out head/tail lights

I'm pretty sure u can buy them from somewhere, i havn't looked much for them brand new but i know there are some people out there that have DIY'd it. So i'm wondering if anyone has done it before, if they could link some instructions cuz the last thing i wanna do is just Wing It and screw it up. Or if anyone knows some place to buy them at a decent price? thanks.

Well, you could either use VHT NiteShades (spray) or a pre-cut film that applies like window tint. The film is easier, but its up to you.

both of those will work fine.

with the paint you'll want to make sure you spray even coats. that way you won't have dark and light patches.

with the film... i would take some high grit sandpaper and wet sand the stamped letters and number on the lens. then buff the taillight smooth before the film goes on. that way it'll look nice and smooth. i think laminex(sp) sells tinted film for lights.

Wet sand the lights first to get them good and clean. Clean them with an alcohol pad to prep them and then 3 coats of night shades (keep the nozzle at least 4-6 inches away to keep from running and give 10 minutes dry time between coats) and one coat of clear (let set for 2-3 hours before installing) makes them nice and glossy dark but still transparent like my markers in my sig.

I used VHT night shades on some tail lights once and they turned out looking kind of dull. So I bought a can of clear coat and sprayed a few coats on and they ended up looking much better, I recommend using clearcoat and if using them on headlights you will want to use clearcoat or film because when bugs and rocks hit the headlights it tends to tear off some of the VHT spray.

On the tail lights I sprayed it as dark as I could get it and light still shined through very brightly and color was very even.

Awesome thanks guys, where did u say i could get a can of the nightspray and clear coat( i imagine the same place but yea..) and for the film woudl i just apply right to the outside of it? like a sticker type thing? does it stick well( if prepped well) u kno i don't want it to start bubbling or like the corners comin off in a few weeks.
