Brake Dust... too far gone?

Post by BFE »

people I bought this accord from must have thought that cleaning a car was optional, one of the things I have come across is brake dust so caked onto the wheel that it seems to have absorbed or become petrified into the paint...

I have simple greened and brushed the hell out of these wheels and cannot get all the brake dust off... any ideas?

mine got pretty bad a while back...probably not as bad as what you're describing. but, i used mr. clean magic erasers...and they worked wonders. i did have to do it a couple times to get it all off tho. whatever cleaner youre using...let it soak in for a minute or two and then start with the eraser. its definitely a tedious job...but nothing else worked for me. lol hope this helps.

try this.. it works awsome and its one of our old detailing tricks, spray some water spot remover on it and then wipe it off real quick, the acid in it eats brake crud like mad

parts cleaner, lol I'd probably melt the car :PDT_str:

Amy, my wife's gonna be pissed when I steal her magic erasers.... should be fun times :axe: :biglaff:

is aluminum brite cleaner something I can get at a parts store, or do I have to learn the secret handshake and get admitted into the cult of detailerology?

btw, you guys have way to many smilies here...
