Same with my white hatchie. My red hatchie didn't survive even with it only being a Florida car. It's the salt that kills it all. Stupid Chicago winters...mike93hatch;109096 wrote:man im so glad my hatch has been rust free its whole life!

thanks for the pics!!!
my blue car (then white) was totally rust free, pulled all info out of this Si I bought, turns out it was born then sold in NY, and somehow made its way down here. At some point must have had 14 dogs living in it. Then I bought it.
Anyway, have been playing around with tig welders alot at work, With no training whatsoever I have been deemed the new guy that welds so I think I'm going to tackle this myself. Found a good DIY online. Only thing Im afraid of is seeing something way nasty when I cut everything out but time will tell, going to get it legal then Ill tear it up.
Probably painting it camo so its kind of a shame to spend alot of time on the fenders, oh well.

No prob. Good luck to ya with it. Make a "How To" thread for future refrence for other folks that might have the same problem. Wish I did now...No Dig;109189 wrote:thanks for the pics!!!

I can do that for you, Busy with finishing the srt4, I tell you what, making parts takes a little more effort then just buying them online but I hope the finished product shows the hard work.connies94coupe;109234 wrote:No prob. and Ill do a step by step to post on here, But as soon as I say "now take your cut off wheel and chop this section of the fender out" and "now take the Tig welder at 15 psi and lay a spot weld every 5 inches while cooling it down with an air hose between every weld" I think Ill loose about 99% of the board.
