I don't know about flat gold, but i would talk to Chris (N2HIFI) about it. He prepped and rattle canned his satin-green car in His driveway/garagement

Well, I want to do the DD satin black. Just a lil worried about how it will hold up. (never spraypainted a car before) lol. A guy I know did his EF9 flat black instead of satin, but it turned out hella patchy. Does the satin go on any smoother? I have been testing it on a few parts and it seems to go on smooth and even. For those that have done it, how does it hold up?

Also, what did you do as far as surface prep? Scuff and prime?

Honestly if you huse rattle can it wont last very long and you will have to do it again. You need to get the color you want with a flattening agent in it along with the clear.

BUT as for prep I would recomend with a red scotch brite, use a good type of sealer and then spray...but thats just me. You want it to hold up so you dont have to keep spraying it and spraying it.

anybody can paint a car its not that hard you just have to practice a lil bit and it also helps to have the right tools, as far as a rookie painting goes, a flat color would be the easiest. Now metallics and pearls is where experience comes in hand to get the metallics to lay down properly. If you need any help or questions about specific things just shoot me a pm id be glad to help out.
