I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's sour about the front plate (when I was living in Kansas, NO front plate period! Same for my brother in Indiana). So back in '06, I put a dark tinted "aero" cover on my front plate, because it seemed to lessen my pain and anger. It made the hideous white plate stand out a bit less on her gorgeous front end. The plate was still perfectly visible, so I was good (or so I thought). Had it on for about two months.
Then one day, driving N-bound on Clarkson Rd (Ellisville), an officer in a motorcycle pulls me over. He was super cool and professional (virtually every officer I have ever dealt with has been this way with me, I guess I'm lucky), and after talking with me for a couple of minutes about the illegal front plate obstruction, he gave me a written warning (like a citation, but with no fine) and told me to get that thing off asap. I thanked him and then drove off. Naturally, I took it off as soon as I got back home.
But after doing this, I was once again staring at that abomination on my front bumper and almost lost it. Lord knows I would rip that thing off in a heartbeat, but I can't fathom the thought of paying a fine. So ever since then, it's been on.
I just needed to vent about this. It's been building up for awhile.:blob1:
