Well I been thinking for a while now to paint the lip on my rims, I can handle that for sure. The problem is I'll have a nice shiny lip while my spokes will be dull. After painting the lip can I shoot clear over the whole wheel to help it shine and give it some protection. What would I need to do to prep the paint left on the spokes to be able to clear it.

i would clean the wheel real good. then use some 800 wet/dry sand paper, and go over the whole wheel. just don't sand in the same spot for too long, or you could go through the paint.
