Well, I'm driving home from work tonight and as I'm on my way home, I notice that the car is starting to lose power and sputter. As I start to pull over, the CEL comes on. I turned the car off, and turned it back on. As I drove off, I was able to diagnose the symptoms a little better. No matter what gear I'm in, whenever you push the accelerater past about mid way, the car with sputter and not go anywhere, kind of like its in limp mode. In second gear when you floor it, it will still sputter, but you will slowly gain speed and when you reach 4,500-5,000 RPMs, the car will drive like normal. I checked the code on the ECU and I think its a "Code 1" for Primary O2 Sensor. I checked the conection on the O2 sensor and pulled the hazard fuse for 30 seconds to clear the code out of the system, but the car is still having the same problem. I also noticed that the tone of the exhaust was louder then normal. Do you guys think that its just a bad O2 sensor? My fo-do never had these symptoms when the O2 went bad, thats why I'm asking for your help. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

When i had O2 problems my car would die at every light when i pushed in the clutch...Id say check your spark, and see how clear and bright it is. For some reason it doesnt sound like an O2 problem.

sounds like a fuel/spark problem, the o2 code popping cause your car is running either excessively lean or rich. try changing your fuel filter check your fuel pump

B-Rad's civic was doing that about a week or two a go and it was his fuel filter.
