Jay's '96 Integra LS

Post by dc4_illinois »

Hi! I'm Jay, from IL. Not new to the honda scene whatsoever, I've owned a '92 Accord LX 2dr 5sp, and an '86 CRX HF 5sp.

10/19/11 I purchased this little beat up dc4 from a buddy for $700. Runs like a gem, just has worn out suspension, a lame ghetto intake and is beat up, but not too bad.

The plans are all of the usuals, clean up the body, maybe a tasteful front lip, tints on the windows, decent stereo with 1 or 2 12's, nothing too heavy.

The previous owner installed the 2 front adjustable coilovers, included the 2 rears and ordered 4 upper strut mounts, which should be here soon. He also ordered the rack and pinion since the steering has some slack in it. Strut tower bars would definitely be appreciated, and maybe a dual roll bar or cross roll cage down the line.

I would love to find another b18b1, do a teardown, bore and sleeve the pistons, port n polish the head, all titanium valves and springs, eagle head bolts and rods, and get forged everything down to the crankshaft. Then I'd really love to t3, t4 or t3/t4 hybrid turbo the entire powerplant.

On with the pics!

11/18/11

Ordered full gasket set, deciding on things after i pull and check the head and blockworks.
Started prepping the body to have the seams and repairs filled.
Found 7 codes in the computer originally. After a reset, things have been fine thus far. This is after replacing crank, MAP, and 2 oxygen sensors.

The car runs awesome to 125 with more to go.

The underside is fairly clean and solid, minus two quarter sized rust spots. Gotta love the midwest!

Also have to get rack and pinion, suspension, paint and undercoating.

No pics because I'm stingy.

I should be far enough along with the body, pre-prep before the end of the month. Pics will be posted then.

Tigger will be all black, gunmetal on the fat 5's, nice brake upgrade, keeping the Tanabe full exhaust. Black front bumper signals or clear with blackhousing. 5-led bars on front and rear plates (for when they get here!) and tint the rear windows at 50%.

He will have a black engine bay with orange splatter underneath the hood, in the engine bay, and on the valve cover, powder coated.

Not much else than that, just keepin it real and keeping it all tasteful. After the factory fenders arrive and the body work is done, my ideal overall setup is a stock look, with black and orange.

I'd love to rewrap the dash, seats and headliner with orange stitched black vinyl. Working on a box for 2 slim 12's to fit ergonomically and give enough bass resonance, whilst saving weight.

It's gonna be a slow build, and a long f*in winter...

Peace to all and happy holidays, you trolls.

Looks like you and Jamie are going to be fighting in the junkyards to find replacement parts.

Good luck on the rebuild.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

Thanks y'all. I appreciate it. Lots of work to go, And kind of limited on money. Piece by piece, tigger will come together.

Oh, btw, my girlfriend nicknamed him tigger because the struts are worn and it's on adjustable coilovers, so it's bouncy as nuts lol.

Be sure to leave me some parts lol. I have to go hit the local yards and see what I can't find.
