These results reflect the record holders, qualifiers, and eliminations contestants at each of the
Doc’s Harley-Davidson Street Bike Shootout Series events held each Wednesday at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois.
All motorcycles compete utilizing street equipment without wheelie bars. All other modifications are permitted. Wednesday SBSS Track Records can be set during official qualifying or championship rounds. The Official Street Bike Shootout “suicide qualifying” period, (one qualifying run only), begins at 7:30 PM, (barring unforeseen circumstances). At 8:00 PM, the four quickest qualifiers meet in no-handicap eliminations with the championship final round held at 8:30 PM.

Eric Sanzottera and Amir Brandy won their first round battles but Mother Nature won the war when a massive electrical storm forced the cancellation of the eleventh event in the b]2008 Doc’s Harley-Davidson Street Bike Shootout Series[/b] at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois.
Sanzoterra, who scored a record-setting tenth SBSS event victory over rival Shawn Ingram during the June 18th event, took his fifteenth career pole qualifying position with a blazing 8.28/169.13 on the QuickTime Motorsports 2003 Suzuki GSX1100. Ingram, only one point behind Sanzoterra in the season championship point standing, hedged his bets by entering a second machine, (a borrowed Honda), after his trusty ‘06 Kawasaki ZX1400 suffered damage in the trailer when a tie-down strap broke. After the Honda could muster no better then a 10.23/132.95, Ingram jumped aboard his Kawasaki and, despite major electrical problems, clocked a 9.32/142.07 to qualify!
Unfortunately, Ingram found himself paired against QuickTime teammate Sanzoterra in the opening round of eliminations and his valiant 9.33/145.17 was obliterated by Sanzottera’s incredible 8.22/170.73, the quickest elapsed time of the 2008 SBSS series and only nine hundredths of a second from his fourteen month old 8.13-second series record. The win was critical in the point standing by allowing Sanzottera his first real “breathing room”, (only two points!), since the season began.
Gateway motorcycle racing veteran Amir Brandy advanced past Evan Holland with his best effort of the season, (9.01/151.09), in an all-Hayabusa battle. Soon after the semi-finals, however, lightning in the area forced the postponement of racing and, eventually, heavy rain cancelled the event altogether. The next event in the 2008 Doc’s Harley-Davidson Street Bike Shootout Series at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th.
