You can't go wrong with a ninja, I have one i've had for close to 4 years and it still runs strong.

1984 750 GPZ-T, and buddy she flies.
I can keep up with R1's on it with no issues and plenty of room left for more speed(not that i race it alot, its a gas saver)

I would stay away from the older ninja bikes. tend to have alot more problems. The cbr 600 f4 and f4i are great bikes. the 600 rr is a good bike, little uncomfterble.

Just my $.02

My prefrence would be to go with a GSXR 600
