Good 6.5" speaker with full range
So I am looking to replace my door speakers that distort really bad with moderate bass. I want a 6.5" speaker that can handle full range with out distorting the highs when there is bass in the music. Any suggestions(try and keep it under $200 please)

I've always been fond of Polk DB651's for the money. They have really nice range, and there is a slim-mount version. I always recommend them first to anyone looking for 6.5's.
Infinity's offerings are nice as well, but I just happen to prefer the Polk's. MB Quartz has some pretty good offerings under $200 too, though most are more expensive than the Polk's or Infinity's and I personally can't hear much of a difference.
Anything else I could recommend that's any better IMO all gets above $200.

If you dont have an amp on them, all of them will sound like shit with moderate bass.

I am running an aftermarket head unit but no amp. Is there anything I can do without installing an amp?

That sucks, there is no real room for an amp in a Miata, and with the top down i have to turn the volume up.
