electrical problems??

Post by 95_gsrfodo »

ok so the 90 civic i bought i am trying to figure out a few things..
the radio does not work. when i pulled it out wow.. wires sittin there bare wires all over the place..

ok well while checking for power at the radio harness i notice when i probed the white/green and white/blue looks like the clock goes off and the door open light on the dash came on...

no power on the test light though.. looks like the memory resets when the key is pulled..

where would be the first place to start with this?
where can i find a pinout on the radio harness?

Radio Switched Ignition 12V+ Wire: Yellow/Red

Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Red/Green
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Brown/Black
Rear Speaker Size: N/A

Radio never worked on the car (memory portion) when I owned it. The ignition switch was replaced several times by the original owner before I had it and I replaced it right before I sold it to matt.

ok so looks like im running all my own wires and doing it all right the first time....
thanx andy for the confirmation
ya im going over all the wires that were "tucked"
found a set running the axel and trying to just make sure none are shorting out...

from what i see the test light was grounded and when i hit them two wires the clock went black "shut off" and the door light came on
so im thinking more along the lines of a short somewhere

i bought it as a project so its all good i have time with it

Hmm. Never did that. Check the tuck matt did. Maybe something power wise on FUSE 14 CKT rubbed to ground and touches intermintantly.
