go to an audio shop that carries several QUALITY brands and listen to the speakers in the board. take some of YOUR music with you and see which ones YOU like. Every brand has their own sound, some are warmer than others, some have brighter tweeters, etc..
Sounds like great advise. You can just google for places in your area.

I have bought and sold electronics for car and home for a long time. And what I told all my customers to do was do your homework. You have to go out and listen to whats out there and then write down the info and go look them up on the internet.
Focal: BUTTER
MB Quart: its not what it used to be
Infinity: One of the best bangs for your buck
Boston: Yummy
Diamond Audio: Expensive there is better out there for cheaper
Digital Designs: New shit that is coming out make sure that you look for this I have heard some great feedback about this company
Alpine: Great products
Eclipse: I love Eclipse head units and amps
Kenwood Excelon: expensive

Her is my 52cents
1999 Acura Integra LS : DD
1993 Honda Accord EX Coupe : Project

for his price range wouldnt a decent set of components ran off a head unit putting out around 20W-RMS be the best bet? I think focusing on what setup, and then the right brand is the best way about figuring out what you are going to do.

I'd jump on this deal right here. Never seen these components so cheap anywhere. Ebay has these right around $350 a pair.
