Wiring harness problem?

Post by HondaChild »

Ok so traded my old head unit to my friend for his, and I moved my stereo location. so now the yellow 12 volt memory wire doesn't get power. I tore my dash apart last night and fiddled with it a bit but no luck. So finally I just ran a wire from the fuse box and it works but it resets its self everytime I turn the car off. can anyone help me out with this? Do I need a new dashboard wiring harness? Or just a wire any help is great thanks.

sounds like you wired it in wrong, you are hooked up to an accessory line, not a real power line, thats why it resets, when you turn the car off it loses power. which makes sence, I believe the actual power line should be red (it is on my rex) make sure you got power on that one. I had Chris/Showoff do the install on my yellow si (had the same problem) and they had to run both the power and accessory lines (yellow and red) back to the fuse box.

I know I've got it wired up right and the red wire is the power wire but the yellow is the constant power wire.

that seems wrong to me, I swore it was the other way around, red was constant, yellow was accessory... try switching them and see what happens... it couldnt hurt right? :dunno:

On the yellow wire it says 12 volt memory power. If I don't get it working during the week could anyone be able to help me out with it this coming weekend?
