Steph, I'll tell you what you should do is a write up on body work. I think that would be a very helpfull write up, especially with your experience ( and Tom's, don't want to forget him ), that could really help people. If they had a question you could answer it easily.
I don't think more tech is a bad idea, I just want it to be backed up by substance, not more internet searching on other sites.

BUT you also have to remember body work is how we make our living and money, if we do a write up on how to do everything to a T then no one will need to come to us for us to do it. I mean any person can do body work, its just the fact of making it look good. Not anyone can take an engine apart and put it back together AND work so they take it to people. Body work really doesnt effect how you go down the road its just what you look like riding down the street.

I dont know what your deal is Nate honestly you have to know that body work is COMPLETELY different than building an engine, puting a new head on. Seriously if you cant STEP OUT OF THE BOX for .2 seconds and realize why we would not want to put ALL our knowledge out to show the world then you should probably figure it out.
Like I said building an engine is COMPLETELY different than doing body work. But whatever this site LACKS hardcore in the tech area and thats all there is to it.

Not copy and paste some thing, easily found on google.
I'm not trying to be a prick, just the devil on the other shoulder. I could flood this site with other write ups in a matter of minutes, but will it make the site better........I really personally think not, and that's why I'm not really feeling the idea.
If you won't even help people with body work, cuz it might affect your money, why would you help them with anything else? If you did build a bad ass H22, would you help someone build one exactly like it? After you did all the research yourself, all the trail and errors of seeing what works, all the money you spent getting thing done most likely more than once, and finally having it yours. You would let someone just copy cat your shit, and not even care.
I can see giving advice, but advice that's yours. Not someone else's.

Honestly if someone wanted to build an H series like mine I would be highly flattered. I would help them out when ever needed. Im not the type of person to sit there and be like NO your not getting my help but I will give you some suggestions on it when it comes to body work.
If all you depended on was side jobs because the industry is so shitty you would feel the same way. But until you are in our shoes you will have NO clue how it is.
I never said I wouldnt help anyone out with body work, I have done it PLENTY of times before, I just said I wont make any write ups I might do little write ups here and there but im not going to show every little detail in body work cause thats what I depend on to make MY money.
Im not saying for people to copy and paste everything they see on here, but if its GREAT information then why not post it and state where it came from? Because obviously its not going to get a "write up" about it on here if no one knows anything about that subject.
What i posted with the oil was not a write up it told you everything you pretty much needed to know about it. It was full of knowledge that im sure 99% of this site knew nothing about. Thats why I stated where to came from, and it had FACTS behind it all.
This thread was mostly stated because if someone asks a question that was already asked and they get a "search for it" answer back thats just stupid honestly. You wanna build up rep you wanna build up threads so that when you do search there is more than one thread giving information on that. SO people can think oh wow people on here know what they are talking about im gonna start coming here for more information. And yes its just an STL site but why not expand to other cities near by or states near by and they come here for information and not to the normal honda-tech sites.

why not handle write-ups like ROTM, you could have a write-up suggestions thread where people can suggest a write up, make a poll then vote. the winning write up can be made into a competition say 3-4 people make a write up on how to do brakes they make the write ups post them and then they vote again for the best write up the winner gets a free stlhondas sticker, a free spot in the MM booth, or the good feeling that theirs win, just think the quality would be better if there was some kind of prize involved not only that people would be motivated to actually make them in the first place...
just a suggestion, seems kind of complicated now that i think about it...
