New shout box rule?

So some users have been getting into it in the shout box lately. What do you all think of a new rule where directly insulting and attacking in the shout box will lead to an instant short ban?

"Personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes calling people noobs, newbies, etc; you were once a |\|()()|3 too. Posts in violation to this will be deleted without notification."

That's in the forum rules..So, personal attacks in the shoutbox will get you banned while a personal attack on the forum only gets your post deleted?...Management needs to think about this one.

We can delete posts, and shouts but shouts are real time and deleting the posts in the shout box most likely wont stop the problem. The ban I am thinking of is a 1 hour cool down ban, not a full week.

I'd agree if they're seriously going at someone. The shout box is a fun thing to have but becomes no fun at all if all you see is 60 shouts from two peeps going at each other and you can't have a convo in the middle of it all. A short 1-2 hour ban might tick them off for a minute but they should wise up pretty quick. I'd say first punch thrown gets the banzor! :PDT_thk:

I say both. It takes 2+ to go at it. If a person makes a comment report it and it will be delt with.
