Got my lunch money taken by an EVO
In St. Charles tonight a stock looking EVO 8, silver in color, debadged, and missing a front bumper cover. Ran twice, first he honked it off and I gave up quickly because I took off at 30ish in second gear. Needless to say he walked off immediately. Second time I rolled up on him, dropped it into first and took off at about 30. He quickly dropped the hammer and cruised passed me. I asked about turbo and boost and he claimed stock turbo tuned on e85 at 30 pounds. Now I'm no turbo expert, and know the e85 allows for more tuning capabilities, but 30 pounds on stock turbo? That seems nuts to me. My friends old evo 8 was maxed out at 23psi on stock turbo, not e85 though.

I think it might be possible to make 30lbs on the "stock" evo 9 turbo. I may be wrong though.

Sharpie is right. I'm good till about 45 in my S2000. I didn't just force it in there (that's what she said). If you give it some revs and apply a small amount of force on the shifter at the right rpm it'll slide right into gear (just like shifting with no clutch), no grinding.Teg-Potential;275997 wrote:anyone else cringe when they read this part? didn't know anyone downshifted to first unless stopped. i can hear the synchro's grinding from here. not to mention at 30mph, you prob only had what.. 5 more mph before had to shift to 2nd anyway?
I've put over 100k on my Si, now at 176k miles with a tranny that shifts like butter. I don't abuse my cars.
