Well, I don't recall saying it was from a dead stop and the driver in the mustang missed second and grind-ed it in to try and keep up...they weigh like 400 pounds more than my car and he had a passenger and yes it was a 5th gen..I looked up the years, how far into the 5th gen that I don't know but it should still be the 300 bhp. As to when he let go, I don't know and maybe that is why I pulled 2 1/2 cars...I slowed down and he gave me a thumbs up, I asked him if it was a real GT or if he just had the emblems and he told me it was a real GT. So unless he was lying or really wanting to embarrass himself, I don't see why it's so hard to believe. I don't mind showing anyone what I got and what I can do, I have no reason to lie about it...I beat this 5th gen Mustang GT but maybe the driver sucked really bad, who knows?

no not at all, can't grab worth a crap from a dead stop but we were on a 10-15 mile roll and his first gear pretty much ran out instantly, my second gear is way longer than his was and I was able to take mine up to 8200 so maybe that's what helped and him miss shifting didn't hurt either02Type-S;236303 wrote:On second thought, are you sure he was trying? Not trolling at all. My statements were made based off the information he gave in his original post. Going off of that, there was no way he beat the GT. Now, given what he said in response to that, I guess it's possible, but I'm still gonna say the guy wasn't really tryingRojo92hatch;236356 wrote:i believe u man, ppl need to stop trollin u...lol, maybe the dude in the gt was a really bad driver, who knows

Well it sounds like the guy was trying but didnt do the best driving job.
Anyways like many have eluded to, 5th gen mustangs are not setting the world on fire in mostly stock form and the OP has a H22 swap'd car with some mods... not a stretch for me to believe it.

not a stretch with a bad driver at all. my brothers hatch with me and him in it(thats between 550-600 pounds between the both of us with our stuff in the car) and a 5th gen GT barely pulled on us from a 60 roll. and i mean slowly. the guy thought he could get away without downshifting the first race lol. epic fail. but when he actually downshifted he didnt get around us very fast at all. i was surprised at how good the hatch did. with the lsvtec that was in it he ran a best of 14.5 but it had a little more in it.
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

Yep, these mustang drivers sound like they hadn't really done much racing, or at least didn't know their cars very well (and definitely did not think a Honda was going to do much against them).HardCore97;236393 wrote:a 5th gen GT barely pulled on us from a 60 roll. and i mean slowly. the guy thought he could get away without downshifting the first race lol. epic fail. but when he actually downshifted he didnt get around us very fast at all.
As always, no matter what your car is SUPPOSE to run, it always comes down to the "driver mod."

yeah. i remember you. i was in the blue del sol with pink wheels. we both got onto 44east off sr50. i thaught that was a modded v6, until we pulled off greenmount exit and stopped at the carwash. clean swap.clean car.i could definitely see you pulling a car on a stock gt.
